VOX Populi: Let the People Be Heard

After a one-week break, I’m back on the radio airwaves, today…that’s a little more than an hour from now.
So for provocative talk and free-wheeling discussion, tune in to “High Noon” at 12 noon at 1460 AM or log on to wvox.com. We have no guests so the phone lines will be open at 914-636-0110. We can talk about anything you like, as long as there are no four-letter words involved.
In the meantime, a program note about a future show. I’m trying to get Westchester County Board Chairman Bill Ryan to come on with so that he’ll have a fair chance to speak directly to the people about county government and his controversial ques for a pay raise. I’ve already heard from Betsy DeSoye, Ryan’s communication director, who sees the chances are good that he’ll come on the air.
Scheduling this has been difficult, so the Ryan show won’t be during my usual Thursday slot.
In any event, DeSoye said in an e-mail that “now that (Ryan) knows you’re not
afraid to fight out of your weight class, you’re on….One way or another,
whether it’s your studio, MSG or the OK Corral, a meeting at high noon
is in both of your futures.”
Stay tuned.
UPDATE: Here’s the podcast of today’s show:

Phil Reisman is a veteran journalist and native of Westchester County. He began his career in 1977 as the head copy boy of a startup New York City newspaper that quickly went belly up. Reisman was not to blame for the newspaper's failure, or so he claims.

Weight class? He should be pulled over as a truck and weighed. No wonder they're expanding the offices up there. Instead of calling him "the chair." they'll soon be calling him "the couch." I LOVE America. If I were in China and ran funny on Hu Jintao, well, it wouldn't be pretty.
Hi Phil,
Where have you been? Can you come out and play?
I replied to you: www.westchestermagazine.com
You again? Don't tell me, Robert. In between kissing Andy Spano's executive hiney, you've been doing more photo shopping right?
You're such a card. Stop hiding behind your little blog. Get up off your knees, put away your crayons and come on my radio show.I'm sure Spano won't mind. Consider that a friendly invitation. We'll even supply the tofu…But please. Don't wear the leotard!
Robert says in reply: "I'm not just some guy; I'm the magazines senior editor!" The semi-colon is mine. I guess only junior editors use them these days.
And I left out the possessive on the word "magazine." I hate to be possessive. At least I edit my copy.
