Bill Ryan on the Radio Show

Bill Ryan, the chairman of the Westchester County Board of Legislators, will be my guest on a special edition of “High Noon.” The WVOX radio program will air at 12 noon on Tuesday, instead of the usual Thursday.
I’m doing this so that Ryan will have an opportunity to speak directly to constituents about his controversial quest to secure a salary raise for the 17-member board.
Tune in at 1460 AM or log onto wvox.com. Listeners may also call in at 914-636-0110.
UPDATE: Here’s the podcast of the today’s show.

The young lady that called and asked why Nassua and Suffolk counties spend less money on government than Westchester County had to be a plant. It was amazing how much gusto Mr. Ryan had in explaining away that “misconception”, almost seemed as if he had advance notice of the question. It was a great way for him to attempt to create the illusion that county government in Westchester is actually thrifty.
Resident: This is exactly what I thought, and how it sounded. The woman even gave her “name.” If she were, by some chance, a real caller she’s living in la-la land mentioning Long Island counties as an example of anything other than big, over-compensated government and onerous taxation.
Amen Ed, she sounded like a well rehearsed, early 20 something intern type. I don’t mean to be insulting Phil, but I wouldn’t think that a female in her early 20’s is your target demographic.
Ha! No insult taken…Alas, I’m afraid that’s my sons’ target demographic these days. If that was a staff ringer, she’ll probably want a raise, now.
