The next 31 days will be very interesting in the world of Westchester County government. For one thing, Andy Spano will still reign as county executive for the entire month of December, giving him plenty of time to cause mischief if he so chooses.
That means that metaphorically speaking, the silverware will be watched and counted before Spano officially leaves office and goes into blissful retirement.
Tomorrow, at 1 p.m. County Legislator George Oros, R-Cortlandt, will supposedly keep the old rascal in check. According to a press advisory, Oros is holding a press conference for the purpose of “exposing” the Spano Administration for attempting to “push through long-term contracts before new county executive takes office.”
