Re “Call to Action campaign pushes for change in Albany,” Friday article about the Westchester County Association’s new effort to hold state lawmakers accountable:
It is extremely disturbing that one of our so-called legislators would appear at a meeting with constituents dressed in gym clothes.
Westchester County Association President William Mooney, who said, “We are not a bunch of fringe people,” should not have to apologize for their group’s demands of lawmakers.
A degree of respect is due to all who would appear before the Legislature, regardless of their politics.
It just shows how out of touch these officials in Albany, who are supposed to represent us, not themselves, just don’t care.
Of course, you, Journal News, dropped the ball in not reporting the name of the legislator dressed in gym clothes. Why wasn’t this person identified?
Ooh, ooh, I know who it was! It was state Sen. Suzi Oppenheimer, D-Mamaroneck. But hey, maybe it was casual Tuesday.
