In full damage-control mode, White Plains Mayor Adam Bradley has agreed to do an interview on my “High Noon” radio program tomorrow.
This comes more than a week after the leadership of the Common Council demanded that Bradley resign on the grounds that he cannot possibly perform his mayoral duties while answering a sensational slew of charges that he physically and mentally abused his wife over a period of many years. Last Thursday, Council President Thomas Roach said on “High Noon” that Bradley’s legal problems are distracting him from the city’s pressing financial crisis, which includes the fall-out of a proposed 18.9 percent tax increase.
The question of Bradley’s ability to lead was examined in last Sunday’s column.
Bradley has stated that he will not step down.
Bradley’s interview will be conducted during the second half of the show, which comes after the 12:30 p.m. break. He will do the interview by telephone. Because of the short window of time, no calls will be taken.
