I made fun of Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano’s contest in which he invited people to design a new logo for the city, but I have to say that the entries have been pretty good.
I like these two in particular.
According to Spano, “Residents can now visit the City of Yonkers Facebook page at www.facebook.com/cityofyonkers and ‘Like’ their favorite design to serve as the City of Yonkers new official logo.
“We have received some great designs from residents taking pride in our city by showcasing Yonkers’ diversity, history and beauty,” Spano said today. “We are now inviting all residents to give their feedback on the design that best represents our city as its official logo.”
The top three designs that receive the most “Likes” will be presented to the City Council at the Oct. 23 Council Meeting during which a design will be determined.
The new logo will be displayed on the City’s website, www.yonkersny.gov, social media sites. Yonkers will keep the City Seal along with the new logo.
