Paul Feiner on High Noon

July
13

Greenburgh Town Suprvisor Paul Feiner appeared on my WVOX radio program, “HIgh Noon” last week to give his “take” on the county’s controversial plan to purchas and renovate a building owned by one of Andy Spano’s major campaign donors.

Feiner has been waging an uphill battle to do away with county government, and believes the county executive’s move only adds ammunition to the cause. What do you think?

450 Saw Mill River Road

July
3

Here’s a $13.6 million question: Why is Westchester County buying a vacant office building at 450 Saw Mill River Road in Ardsley?

They’re going to store voting machines there, but it seems that a cheap circus tent could  just easily do the trick. Well, I’ve written about this in my column and touched a couple of sore spots with the Spanoista regime when I pointed out that the owner of the building, Jon Halpern, happens to be a generous campaign donor to the county executive.

Anyway, we’re going to talk about this deal today on my “High Noon” radio program. Our guest via telephone will be County Legislator Tom Abinanti, D-Greenburgh, who  has opposed the sale.

Tune in to 1460 AM at noon, or log onto wvox.com. Calls as usual will be taken at 914-636-0110.

The Stimulus Check Scam

June
12

I recently received my $1,200 economic stimulus check from Uncle Sam—and boy I can hardly wait to pay my bills with it.

George Bush wants Americans to plow the federal rebate money back into the economy by buying junk at the mall, but most working people are more likely to pay down their debt, and the rich—well, they’ll put in their savings accounts.

We’re going to talk about this and other topics today on “High Noon,” my WVOX radio program, which airs at 12 noon, of course. QUESTION OF THE DAY: What do you plan to do with your rebate check.

Join the conversation by tuning in at 1460 AM or listen on line at wvox.com. Calls will be taken at 914-636-0110.

UPDATE: Here, a few days late, is the podcast recording:

Radio Today: Oros Gives Talks About Kriss Affair

Kriss is the $150,000-a-year chief adviser to Bill “Boss” Ryan, the Democratic chairman of the board,

Oros and the other Republican legislators, Jim Maisano of New Rochelle and Gordon Burrows, said that under Ryan, “the public has lost trust” in the board of legislators.

Mooney Talks On Radio's 'High Noon'

May
22

One of the most interesting political stories on the local fron this year was the pay-raise fiasco involving Bill “Boss” Ryan and the Westchester County Board of Legislators.

A major player in that controversy was William Mooney, the president of the Westchester County Association, who ably served as the chairman of a special compensation advisory panel that convened for several weeks to resolve the pay issue. In the end, Boss Ryan got far less than he wanted.

Mooney will be my WVOX radio guest on “High Noon” today at 12 noon. Tune in at 1460 AM or listen online at wvox.com. Calls will be taken at 914-636-0110.

Sell The House In Chappaqua!

May
8

It’s time to call the vampire hunters. Hillary Clinton is the undead. She’ll never quit this race.

Never.

And I hope she doesn’t.

I”m having so much fun watching this insanity, that it would be a shame for her to drop out. Crazy Hil should take it all the way to the Democratic Party convention, and beyond. Yes, beyond!

If Obama should happen to win the presidential nomination, Hillary should show up to his inauguration and declare a Yogi-ism that it’s not ever until it’s over. And even if it is over, it’s not really over until SHE SAY IT’S OVER, DAMMIT.

Then I hope Hillary starts stalking him with nutty pranks, like making phony phone calls to the White House at 3 a.m. That would be funny.

But seriously folks….

Here’s the thing that gets me. After losing North Carolina and barely squeaking by in Indiana, Hillary not only seems determined to stick to a losing cause, she’s starting to whine again. Now she says if the Democrats followed the same primary rules as the Republicans, she’d be the presumptive nominee by now.

Think about that. Then consider all this polling talk that something like half of her supporters won’t vote for Obama if he becomes the nominee. Instead, they’ll vote for John McCain.

Maybe Hillary Clinton should join the GOP next time. In fact, here’s a strategy: She should switch parties and lobby to become McCain’s running mate!

As it, she’s spending all of her precious fortune to chase her Quixotic dream. The Clintons have $109 million and she’s forked over about one-tenth of it to her campaign. That’s like tithing, isn’t it? Before you know it, she’ll have to put the house in Chappaqua on the market to raise cash.

If you want to join the conversation on this and other items in the news, tune into my radio program, “High Noon,” at 12 p.m. today. My guest will be Matt Davies, the Pulitzer Prize-winning cartoonist for The Journal News.

That’s 1460 AM, or log onto www.wvox.com. Calls will be taken at 914-636-0110.

It's 'High Noon' On Friday

April
17

We’ve been moving the “High Noon” radio program off its regularly scheduled Thursday noon slot lately, and so I apologize for any confusion that may be causing. I’ve had a number of commitments that have fallen on that day, hence the changes.

Today I participated in a Writer’s Day program at the Mark Twain Middle School in Yonkers and that’s why the radio show was again postponed.

But, we’re on the air tomorrow, Friday, at the normal noon hour. So please tune in for provocative talk. That’s 1460 AM or log onto wvox.com.

Listener calls will be taken 914-636-0110.

Update: Here’s the podcast.
