We’ve been moving the “High Noon” radio program off its regularly scheduled Thursday noon slot lately, and so I apologize for any confusion that may be causing. I’ve had a number of commitments that have fallen on that day, hence the changes.
Today I participated in a Writer’s Day program at the Mark Twain Middle School in Yonkers and that’s why the radio show was again postponed.
But, we’re on the air tomorrow, Friday, at the normal noon hour. So please tune in for provocative talk. That’s 1460 AM or log onto wvox.com.
Listener calls will be taken 914-636-0110.
Update: Here’s the podcast.

Bill Ryan, the chairman of the Westchester County Board of Legislators, will be my guest on a special edition of “High Noon.” The WVOX radio program will air at 12 noon on Tuesday, instead of the usual Thursday.
I’m doing this so that Ryan will have an opportunity to speak directly to constituents about his controversial quest to secure a salary raise for the 17-member board.
Tune in at 1460 AM or log onto wvox.com. Listeners may also call in at 914-636-0110.
UPDATE: Here’s the podcast of the today’s show.

After a one-week break, I’m back on the radio airwaves, today…that’s a little more than an hour from now.
So for provocative talk and free-wheeling discussion, tune in to “High Noon” at 12 noon at 1460 AM or log on to wvox.com. We have no guests so the phone lines will be open at 914-636-0110. We can talk about anything you like, as long as there are no four-letter words involved.
In the meantime, a program note about a future show. I’m trying to get Westchester County Board Chairman Bill Ryan to come on with so that he’ll have a fair chance to speak directly to the people about county government and his controversial ques for a pay raise. I’ve already heard from Betsy DeSoye, Ryan’s communication director, who sees the chances are good that he’ll come on the air.
Scheduling this has been difficult, so the Ryan show won’t be during my usual Thursday slot.
In any event, DeSoye said in an e-mail that “now that (Ryan) knows you’re not
afraid to fight out of your weight class, you’re on….One way or another,
whether it’s your studio, MSG or the OK Corral, a meeting at high noon
is in both of your futures.”
Stay tuned.

Gov. David Paterson’s startling admission that he had extra-marital affairs was a politically calculated strategy meant to preempt the sensation of any independent snooping into his private life.
I have a problem with this for two reasons.
First, did Paterson ever think about the women he carried out these liaisons with? By outing himself, he unilaterally outed them, too. And one of them, Lila Kirton of White Plains, has had to suffer the humiliation of having her name and photo plastered in the pages of every newspaper in town. Her life as a married mother, must be a living hell right now. Chivalry and honor once were virtues. No more.
Second, Paterson’s preemptive strike has officially made it OK for reporters to ask every candidate, who wishes to serve, whether or not they’ve had affairs in their lives. It’s no one’s business.
We will be talking about this and other political matters on the radio today at noon. Tune in to “High Noon,” at 1460-AM or log on to wvox.com.
Calls will also be taken at 914-636-0110.

We’re going to talk about the governor’s rise and fall (Is that a pun, or am I just seeing double meanings in everything these days?) on my “High Noon” radio program today on WVOX, 1460 AM and www.wvox.com.
Tune in or log on at 12 noon. Our guest on the phone will be Jay Gallagher, a veteran journalist and Albany bureau chief for Gannett News Service.

That’s what “High Noon” second banana Frank “Buddy” Waller III called Barack Obama on today’s show on WVOX.
If you missed the entertainment, you can hear it on the blog archive. Waller’s intemperate comment was made during a lively one-hour discussion about the latest round of Democratic primaries which saw Hillary Clinton best Obama in three out of four states.
I questioned Hillary’s claim that she is the best candidate to be commander-in-chief. And then for laughs I did a riff on her infamous “3 AM” commercial in which she stars as the guardian of America’s sleeping children. The only call Hillary has ever gotten at 3, I suggested, was from her husband looking for his pants at a Yonkers motel.
Buddy, who is a shameless Hillary lover, argued that her credentials for the job of U.S. maximum leader are beyond question. He pointed to her service on the Senate Armed Forces Committee as proof. Yes, he was serious.
Is it time to get a new sidekick?

I’m still recovering from a bout of jet lag after a week away covering the Super Bowl.
But that won’t keep us from going on with the show…”High Noon,” that is.
Today at 12 noon, the subject will be about that other “super” event, Super Tuesday and what’s to come in the presidential sweepstakes.
(Maybe we’ll throw a little bit in about Fat Tuesday, too. How about inventing a new special day—Super Fat Thursday?)
Joining us on the air will be Jeff Binder, a Westchester-based political consultant.
Tune in at 1460 AM or log onto wvox.com.

It’s a free for all on “High Noon” today. We go on the air in approximately 30 minutes.
Tune in at 12 noon to 1460 AM on WVOX, or log onto wvox.com. Also call in at 914-636-0110. As the deacons say, share your “joys and concerns.”
Here’s some topics I’m going to discuss…—Teen drinking and parental awareness in Westchester County.—The national economy, meaning the economic stimulus plan and the falling price in real estate.—The proposal to build a tunnel underneath the Long Island Sound. A hearing on that project is being held as I write.
And more, more, more—all packed inside about 40 minutes of hot radio.
Don’t miss being a part of the action. Get the surf board and catch the airwaves.
